“This is the way it’s always been.” She says with tears in her throat.
It doesn’t matter that the situation she’s in doesn’t feel good – it’s just the way it is.
I share. “It can be different. It doesn’t have to be the way it’s always been.”
I can feel her mind explode as she grapples with the idea that it can be different. The revelation of – The way it is can change – pulls deep at her heartstrings.
Friend, it doesn’t matter what your situation is…a conflict with your child or other loved one, a schedule that’s restrictive, a habit that you’ve outgrown, a belief that no longer serves you, a job that’s unsatisfying – it’s your situation. (It’s your life.) And if it doesn’t feel good, even if you think it logically should or you believe you have no other choice…you can change it.
It doesn’t have to stay the way it is!
Sometimes we can get so caught up in the way it is that we forget that the way it is can change.
I hear myself saying to my friend, “Oh, I’ve always been that way.”
As if my always being that way is a good reason why I should stay that way, even when that way doesn’t feel good.
If you have a gnawing, you know that not-good-feeling in the pit of your belly, it is your knowing – that it’s time for the way it is to change.
Dearest, I share with you this Plain Truth message (Divine messages that I’m creating into a book) in hopes that if you’re in a situation that doesn’t feel good, you’ll choose to change it.
NO ifs, ands, or buts about it: You and only you are the designer of your life. If you have created a life that you feel trapped in, or limited by, it is up to you, and only you, to break free from the limitations that you have allowed to dictate your life. To break free you have to first, recognize that it’s your life and it belongs to you. Second, you have to choose how you are going to break free. Maybe it’s just a matter of changing your mindset. It may be that if you try on a fresh perspective you will see your life through new eyes. Maybe it’s a matter of taking concrete steps. It may be that you need to just tweak your schedule a bit, or it may be that you need to change your entire life. The bottom line is, there are no ifs, ands, or buts about it, it is your life and it is up to you to make it the way you wish it to be.
