My insightful and savvy business coach, Judith Manriquez, interviewed me this week as part of a series she created around the topic of Living Mastery.

(If you would like to listen to this in-depth call on Living Mastery here is the link, the download is under the subtitle: A sample of mastery)

Judith’s definition of mastery is more real than the antiquated definition of mastery – expert skill or knowledge.

For Judith, living in mastery is living from Your Soul.

I couldn’t agree more.

But what do we do when we feel less than masterful…angry with our neighbor, frustrated with our children, overwhelmed by the tasks at hand, tired with a cold, scared of mad news, drowning in the muck, etc.?

What do you think? Does mastery sometimes look and feel less than masterful?

I think sometimes it does.

If you’ve been feeling like a victim and now you are feeling anger, you are advancing.                                                                                                                        If you’ve been feeling wrong and now you’re feeling annoyed, you are progressing.                                                                                                                               If you’ve been feeling hopeless and now you’re feeling relief, you are making headway.

DEVOTION to our growth is our Mastery.

When we are willing to love (yes love) our way through WHATEVER is unsettling, or disturbing, or frustrating, or worrisome, or sad, or frightening, and bring ourselves back into a state of harmonious balance, we are living in our Mastery.

But… and it’s a big but, we have to accept where we are without harshness – without judgment, or punishment – in order to let go of our pain.

But how?

By Remembering who we are!

We are Beautiful Creations made by our Beloved Creator.

How do we remember the Beautiful Creation that we are when we’re in the midst of turmoil?

To remember who we are – Beautiful Creations – we do whatever we have to do to feel our CONNECTION with the DIVINE.

We pray, meditate, deeply breathe, take a walk, ask ourselves loving questions, call a friend or mentor, we do whatever it takes.

Once we make the Connection we can feel the love, and in the love we can breathe in acceptance.

With ACCEPTANCE we can Devote ourselves to our growth – to our Mastery!

Thanks for your time. I appreciate YOU!

In Mastery,
