If you recall last week I talked about taking things personally, remember it all started with my cat.

Well, I mentioned when I take things personally I pull up my spiritual stamina to harmonize my emotions, basically meaning I bring myself back to a state of peace or balance.

Guess what?

We all have the inborn capacity to harmonize our emotions because…we are all born with the breath of life.

I have tried many spiritual (and other) techniques to balance my emotions, but the one that has made the most difference is conscious breathing, or deep breathing.

Conscious breathing brings us back into harmony. When we breathe deeply we reconnect with Who We Really Are…our Divine Selves (or authentic selves).

Think of your emotions like water, (fluid) and if you don’t allow them to flow they create dams.

When we experience inharmonious emotions and we allow them to stay stuck (create dams) we clog up who we are! We need to allow our emotions to flow like a river, to be energy in motion.

Today while working with a client I soulfully heard to tell her about breathing deeply into her belly (deep continuous breaths) for every discordant emotion (fear, anger, overwhelm, hurt, confusion, etc.) and to say, “I AM breathing in the breath of life.”

I love that…the breath of life!

We all have it, this infinite life-stream.

Why not try it? The next time you feel upset instead of holding your breath, or taking short shallow breaths, try taking deep, continuous belly breaths and say, “I AM breathing in the breath of life.”

“Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.”  Thich Nhat Hanh

Thanks for taking the time to read my posts. I appreciate YOU!

Would love to hear from you, have you ever tried conscious breathing? If you have what difference did or does it make for you? Please respond in the comment section.

With a long deep breath,
